About our Organization

The purpose of the Friends organization is to provide support for the Washington County Public Library by providing materials and equipment, which would otherwise be unavailable, assisting the library staff in its programs, and making our citizens aware of the important role the public library plays in our community.

Friends of the Library will have their meeting on Thursday, November 3rd, from

12:00-1:00pm, at the Blue Lake Community Center.   Everyone is invited to attend!


Our speaker will be Vince Spencer, pastor of the New Life Fellowship Church in Chipley. 
Last fall, he was on a trip to India, and will be sharing some of his experiences and impressions with us.

The cost of the meal is $7.00.
Be ready to let her know which number sandwich and drink you would like. If you cannot find your menu, please contact a Friend. The meal is being catered again by Boar-Deli, and includes a six-inch sub, chips, pickle, drink, and dessert.

N.A.M.E. will have a float in the Christmas Parade! The teen group from the library will be dressed in Cosplay.

Melanie Doss has graciously offered to 'sponsor' the float!

Please help support this special friend by bringing in individually wrapped candies for the kids to 
distribute from the float! 
Washington County Public Library is excited to announce “Teen Read Week,” from October 16-22, with the addition of 25 new teen books!

The library was an award recipient of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) Teens’ Top Ten Books Giveaway grant.  YALSA is a division of the American Library Association (ALA). 

Grant funding generously was provided by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.   

Visit the library and check out the best books for teens, selected by teens!  The King of the Jungle awaits your choice.
