"Books constitute capital. A library book lasts as long as a house, for hundreds of years. It is not, then, an article of mere consumption but fairly of capital, and often in the case of professional men, setting out in life, it is their only capital. "                        Thomas Jefferson

The Staff at the Washington County Public Library would like to inform you of the latest and greatest happenings. We’ve been quite busy filling up our calendar with events for the public.

Everyone has a story to tell…What’s yours?

Join us at the Washington County Library in Chipley on November 8th at 6:30 P.M. for an organizational meeting for the creation of a writer’s group. What you need as encouragement will be the primary focus of this meeting and a convenient meeting schedule will be created by the group. It is important that each member feels comfortable enough to share ideas, stories, suggestions, or just attend and listen. Future plans include a blog to showcase your work.
